Rich,
When I took my SCCA driver's school for Vintage Road Racing in my Tiger, I had
the privilege of sharing the track time with a TR-8, set up for I T (Improved
Touring) racing. Although I was a timid novice, and being observed by the
officials at the time, I took pleasure in lapping the race prepared TR-8.
This was not his first driver's school: he was a licensed driver that had
arranged with the officials (Martin Pang, for one!) to go out during our
session for track time. His car was lighter, which gave him a slight
advantage on turn entries, but in spite of the "modern" prepared suspension,
there was absolutely no contest.
