My Alpine had lost one steel bracket from the torsion bar, and car was
"funny" to drive, it turned different left than to right. After replacing
all bushes the steer is much stiffer, it needs more muscels and of course
gives much improved feel to the road.
If there is play in rear axle it makes car even "more fun" to handle. I do
not know how much bushes and how much leafs is to blaim.
