Yes, and the warnings of some well-meaning people that ammeters are
somehow bad news. ("I remember on my old XXX,....")

And, in general, it makes me nervous to see (non-essential) in-series
metering devices. It lets Mr. Heisenberg get closer to the works.

I'll just make leads to it off the harness that can be shorted if ever
necessary.
