I have the Allison EI installed on my Alpine and I'm getting tired of
seeing my tach jump all over the place while driving. I removed one loop
of the inductive pickup on the back of the tach per Allison
instructions, got better but still not statified with the results. Has
anyone tried putting a late Series V tach faceplate on an early gear
driven tach? I have both the distributor and housing for the cable setup
but I have no tach. Before I spend time/money looking for an different
tach, I would like to know how much work is involved. Any other ideas on
how to fix this? Would replacing the electronic components of the tach
help?
BTW, Jarrid....I made my little voltage regulator circuit and I measure
9.68V steady at the gauges. They are stable but the temp gauge still
reads too high, about 40F. I saw someone post something about rebuilding
gauges, does that include calibration?
