I agree from an aesthetic point of view, but the '58 "squarebird" more than
tripled sales of the Thunderbird, so whoever decided to add the extra seats
was pretty smart in their market research - must not have been the same
group that introduced the Edsel - still the best example of how market
research can be wrong, even after millions of dollars spent
