Petrol fumes in trunk

Hi all,

When I open the boot/trunk on my s3 I can smell petrol fumes. I have
removed the trim panels to check for leaks but everything is dry. The
tanks look and feel (where I can reach) rust-free.

My first suspect is the small, upper hose that connects the tanks
together. Given I can only smell fuel, it must be vapour rather than
liquid.

Any other 'check this before you remove the tanks' ideas?
