I have an oil leak that seems to be coming from the fuel pump. I have
two questions.
1) what are the potential sources of leakage at the fuel pump. I would
guess that the mating surfaces of the pump to engine block is one of
them - can they leak oil internally and then weep out?
2) has anyone used the rebuild kit from SS and had success.Might this
solve my problem?
At this point I am not interested in an electric pump. I like the
retro look of the glass bowl.
Just an additional observation. I thought I had oil leaks coming
from everywhere and that I had a months worth of work to fix them all
but afer cleaning the engine , running it,cleaning it ,running it , I
believe it all comes from the one source, just a drop at a time and then
gets plastered all over the engine by wind wipping it around. Amazing
how that stuff can spread. The good news is no rust underneath.
