horn ring

My S2 had a horn ring, but my S5 doesn't. There is a button under the dash roll which I'm guessing was used for the horn. Is this "correct" or should the horn signal be on the steering wheel? I will be using a wood wheel, preferably with the signall on it, but I'm just curious.
