From what I've read elsewhere, and heard from my local head shop, the stock 
exhaust seats are 'marginal' at best.   If you plan to run the car at high 
speeds (for an Alpine that means on any freeway) and already have the head 
off, now's the time to replace them.  A good head shop should be able to 
recommend a replacement seat.
