Just a couple days ago someone wrote in with an electrical problem at
which point I thought to myself how lucky I was never to have had
electrical problems with this car that couldn't be resolved. Maybe I
even thought how lucky I was to be gifted enough or intrigued enough to
figure them out. I even thought it might be fun to have something go
wrong so I could apply my problem solving abilities and score another
victory against team Lucas. Well I've been humbled and slapped back to
reality. I was just out for a quick drive to test my tachometer (which
I removed last night , adjusted it and reinstalled). I had a digital
tach connected to compare against the Smith's.
I stopped for gas and when I hopped back in and turned the key to start
- nada. I wiggled the battery cables and got nothing. So I started
checking the guages ,lights etc. Everything worked except the headlights
and starter. I gave the car a shove, popped the clutch and sped for
home. Now that I am home and in the security of my garage everything
works fine.
My question is: wa happen? Where might I look for trouble? And why is it
that when you start feeling cocky you get put in your place?
