In railroad signal maintenance, we used to use low voltage and up to 110V DC
battery banks. We used "corrosion inhibitor"
on all battery terminals but were told not to substitute with anything but
Vaseline. I think many of the other greases contain additives (soaps,waxes,
fibers, etc) that likely would increase resistance.
