It lives!

First, I'd like to thank everyone who responded to my questions. The
advice and tips saved me alot of time and aggravation. I was able to get
a good 6 hours of work in today and as a reward I decided I'd try to
start her. Once I discovered that the coil was shot I turned to my 70
Spitfire, who was a reluctant parts donor. After several tries and a
little squirt of starter fluid, 8 years of storage gave way to a nice
throaty sound! I let it run at idle for at least 15 minutes while
checking for leaks and temp. So far so good.

As a lifelong Triumph person, this Alpine is starting to grow on me. My
first impression was "geez that's an ugly car" Now I catch myself
admiring it! It still needs a good going over, shocks, bushings etc.,
but at least the electrical system seems solid. I already replaced all
the hydraulics. Once again, thanks for the help. Hopefully, I'l be able
to contribute once I get more experience with the Alpine.

Anthony
