It would probably be better to use a block that is unrepaired if you have it
available. No matter how expert the pre-and post-heating, as well as the repair
braze, residual stresses may exist in that area of the block which may later lead
to cracks (unless special and unusual stress-relieving techniques were used in
the repair). As a weldor, I would always choose an unrepaired and magna-fluxed
block over concours engine #'s. (keep it for a spare, since it is probably O.K)
