All,
I drove the Alpine today for the first time in almost 9 years. What
a rush!!! Of course, with my old tires and thrown together front
suspension, I snowplowed all the way to the tire store. The front
tires were screaming like banshees. Ended up putting on 195/60R14's on
it.
I am in heaven driving my baby. And as I said, the first thing I
did, after making sure everything sounded right, was to blare Led
Zeppelin from the stereo. The car still has a few kinks to work out.
It's still leaking oil from the pan, though slower now, and the brakes
are grabbing on the left side. Not sure what to do about that or even
what to look for. In the meantime I am savoring the victory and plan
on celebrating it with a Cuban cigar and a New Castle. Cheers!!!
Thanks to all you well wishers out there. It has helped keep me
going in the tough times. And to all of you who have yet to finish a
project, keep going, the end is not far off and will reward you greatly.
Christopher
