I am in the process reassembling my dash after veneering it with mahogany
and 12 coats of varnish. I originally removed the threaded toggle switch
rings with needle nose pliers but I don't want to risk slipping and gouging
the newly refinished dash so I either need to find or make a proper tool. Is
this an auto parts store item? Otherwise I will make a tool from a small
piece of steel bar, drill an appropriate size hole, cut off the end through
the center of the hole and bend over the tabs to fit the 2 notches in the
switch rings. I can make this tool at work but forgot to bring a ring for
sizing... Question: what is the INSIDE DIAMETER of these threaded rings? Thanks!
