I don't know if he is suggesting torquing the head hot. But, he seems to
be. I thought that torquing aluminum heads should be done when the head is
COLD (and adjusting the valves when they are hot). I heard once that
torquing a hot head could cause over torquing and upon cooling cause the
head to crack.
But, now that I think about it, if the head is hot, it is larger than it
will be than when it is cold. So, maybe that is not the reason. But, I
still seem to recall that Alpine heads are supposed to be torqued cold. I
don't have my books. Anyone else know?
