This had to be an excellent wekend for all in the GREAT NORTHWEST,,,,!!
What a deal Jane and I just got back from a wonderfull trip. several
weeks ago I recieved a notice in th email,,)) A run from the Seattle
area to Hood River Oregon . Well I didn't really join in from the start
Puget Sound Area in the Bellevue WA area to th eend of the run.
We got our rooms when we found out and then waited in antisipation for
the day to arrive. Of course the week prior I had polished the heck out
of The Great Pumkin and we left mid day Saturday, from portland we went
east Hwy 26 up over Mt.Hood and around on to Hwy 35 into Hood River Or.
What a beautiful trip , (was abit chilly at 4,000 Ft with snow on the
roadside ,,but what a view , then into the orchard area of the famous
apple /peach/apricot area ..
The views were absoultly great and the engine purring along like it knew
we wanted a good day. Tony in Gabrilola and Dick in Seattle you guys
would have loved this. Then into Hood river. The stop for the group was
(and all will wish for this) The one and only Brewery at Hood River, the
home of Full Sail Ale....)) The to th ehotel at The Hood River Inn, the
eveing was great Food music and (but ) Jane convelesing with a knee
operation) we had a blast
..
well then on to Sunday,, what can I say anouther great day. At first we
didn't know which direction to go SOOOOOooo many options. I think this
is what it's all about. we decided to go east to the small town of BIGGS
, had a great lunch and the south on good old Hwy 97 , wonderful eastern
Oregon in it's splendor , we then stopped in at the Nationallly known
little town of Shaniko Oregon. blessed with good ice cream and the on
south to Madras, back on to Hwy 26 for a trip back to Portland and home
in Clackamas. whooo what a trip . does anyone have any suntan
protection??

cheers and for all those vets out there THANKS !
