1600 Holbay Compression

I think I wrote this some time ago. According to a chart in the SAOC Horn,
if you use the Holbay head on the 1600 engine, and even go to flat top
pistons, the best compression you can get is 8.9:1.

So, if you want high compression, you would be better off using a standard
1600 head. There are modifications you can make to the standard 1600 head
to let the air/fuel and exhaust flow better without opening up the
combustion chamber and killing your compression.

Here by the way, are all the figures from the Horn:

Standard head Holbay Head
standard piston
1592 9.1 8.4
1725 9.2 8.5
flat top piston
1592 9.8 8.9
1725 10.5 9.6
