I think I wrote this some time ago.  According to a chart in the SAOC Horn,
if you use the Holbay head on the 1600 engine, and even go to flat top
pistons, the best compression you can get is 8.9:1.
So, if you want high compression, you would be better off using a standard
1600 head.  There are modifications you can make to the standard 1600 head
to let the air/fuel and exhaust flow better without opening up the
combustion chamber and killing your compression.
