A note from Max Pahmeier, SUNI III Chair, mentioned that

  "for anyone planning to go to SUNI via Jackson Hole from the south
   you should avoid the road from the Alpine Junction to Hoback Junction
   that goes into Jackson Hole. They are doing massive road construction
   without a detour. It is mud, no paving and is a total mess with long
   traffic delays up to 3 hours."
