Yes Jarrid, I see the point. In theory it seems to be quite right. However, If the oil level is right up to the filler opening as it should, some part of the mainshaft is deep enough to through oil around. And it is spinning without any load.
Why am I stubborn about this? Well, all this towing of cars 150 - 200 miles haven't made any harm. Or do you mean even longer distances in high speed?
Helping some fellow with his car in the middle of a rainy night, you want to get away with it without eating mud under some oily car.
