The amp meter was an option, so that's why it doesn't appear on the
main wiring diagram. Most people run all of their electrics to the amp
meter first and then back to the solenoid (battery side). The way the
manual shows it wired would only give you a reading for the alternator
alone. Wiring it with all the electrics tells you what's going on in
the whole car. Get onto the Tiger website, there are instructions for
wiring your amp meter up this way in there. You can find a link to the
Tiger site at TJHiggins Alpine page (I think it's called Alpine 59-67).
As for that little box your are referring to, it's the instrument
voltage regulator. It limits the voltage going to your gauges to 10
volts. If you don't have one then your electrical gauges will not
function properly.
As for the lack of blower wiring in your diagram, I'd have to say look
again. It should be there.
