From the voltage readings off the ballast resister, I would suspect the
resister. It's suppost to regulate the current flow and I don't think
you should get such a large voltage drop. Are you sure you need the
ballast resister? I just bought a new $15.00 coil and the coil has a
warning label not to use one. By the way, you can check spark with the
coil wire held a short distance from the metal engine ground.
