I have successfully filled smal chips with a brush, dabbing an excess
amount of paint in the hole (often several applications to build the
paint up in the chip), followed by a drying period and very carefully
using a razor blade to slice off excessive paint, followed by polishing
compound. Its painstaking work but you can't tell there were chips when
you are done. HERBEAM

Bob, Thanks for the input. Do you use a particular brand of
polishing compound. Are they graded like sandpaper ie., fine, superfine
, 200, 400 etc. It seems that any polishing I've ever done on a small
area has ended up with polishing marks in a small area. Perhaps I've
used the wrong product.
