OK, I better add some to this before it explodes. I think the thing that
got me the most that Tom was responding to was name calling by Tiger owners
of other Tiger owners who modified their cars. Words were used like "out
of their mind" to put a 351 in a Tiger and "criminal." There just is no
reason for such name calling. So, I supported Tom's comments.
Otherwise, I agree with Scott. There's room for both, and I personally
tend to get more from seeing the 100% stock one. On the other hand, I
think a lot of kudos should go to anyone who spends time on their own cars,
whether it be an Alpine, another English car, old American trucks, you name
it - same skills, same love. For instance, I saw Steve Alcala's Alpine
with the Mustang SVO Turbo 4 in it for the first time this weekend and
Bruce's V6. Each was a work of art in their own way. Of course I still
think Bruce should use some green in the interior - if only the piping.
(The car is a light/cream yellow and the insert on the front badge is a
little chrome Mustang horse with a light green backing. Black or tan
interior would just be all wrong IMHO).
The Porsche thing is that much worse because all they did was slap some
money down on the counter and drive off.
