Is that the one Practical Classics tested and said it was a waste of money?
They said it was much too difficult to operate, unsafe, and
under-engineered.

Jay, I never thought of that. However, instead of the dollies, better
yet I would checkout this hydraulic, motorcycle lift made by Superior.
It's $142.95, on casters, 1250 lbs capacity, but only 14" lifting height
(They made a bigger one). What I was thinking was to remove the Alpine's
wheels (with the body supported on jack stands)and position this lift
under the centerline of the crossmember and the engine/tranny (may need
some tranny bracing welded there). Then remove it as a complete unit. I
have a picture of this creature if your interested.
