As I pull apart my SV car, I am looking at all sorts of parts that I
considered new, just bought and installed about 5 years ago. Ok, so maybe
5 years isn't so new anymore. But, I was surprised to see some of the new
rubber had already cracked - including the new top radiator hose. I was
also surprised to find that one of the tie rod ends was pretty much dried
out and sticking quite a bit. These were new too and had been lubed. My
master clutch had signs of a little seeping, again, new, not even rebuilt
(this also could have been from accidental spill when filling, I'm not
sure). I guess it's really just a reminder to really maintain these cars
and keep inspecting everything!
