The two cars that I have here are all coated in plastic except the one
on the left hand side, I think for the hammer. It is a larger clamp of
the same design used for the hammer on S1 & S2 cars. Not coated. They
may have continued to use this style of clamp because it is a lot wider
& stronger than the ones that are coated. It would definately hold the
hammer in place without rattling or falling out. Did your car come with
wire wheels? If it didn't, perhaps that is why you don't have it. Only
cars with wires had the hammer. - Ian
