Jay.
Hi..I,m sorry for any confusion, but no..I run the V6 in our race car and
have a MkII engine in my Drophead.
The engine we run is actually a Holden Commodore V6, but I called it a Buick
to save some confusion with our American friends here, as they are basically
identical..and . (early Commodores used completely imported Buick V6's)
We are using the V6 for its extremely good low end torque (essential for
acceleration out of very dusty or boggy corners.) to replace our
Supercharged Toyota 4AGZE
The V6 is a very compact powerplant with extremely good power to weight
ratio. Stock, they produce approx 135kw..with mild tweaking..(Basically some
head work) you could expect up to 160kw.
As for fitting to a Talbot...the V6 is compact length wise..but maybe a bit
broad across the heads for the Talbot engine bay nearer the front.
I would have to spend some time with a tape measure before making a
decision. :-)
hope this helps, and good luck with your Alpine
