Gary,

You're right about going richer. I've read that this carb generally does
better with a smaller main jet and/or larger air correction jet and a larger
idle jet. Check out

Here's the response from Steve at Top End Performance:

... the value of the jet kit is in our experience tuning these carbs. The
jet sizes are based on some other mods that are performed when installing
the jetting kit.

I've seen jets for about $3.50/jet, so 6 jets would be about $21. The trick
is getting the 'right' 6 jets. Steve claimed the kit would correct the
severe engine stumble that occurs when I pull away from a stop - which is
the reason that I originally inquired about the contents of the kit.

He also recommended that I check for 10-14 degrees advance at idle and 34-36
advance at 3000 rpm. Whether the specific degrees are correct or not is not
important to me here - the fact that he recommended that I check my ignition
prior to buying his carb jetting kit indicates some integrity.

I'd like to know what the kit entails prior to purchasing it, but Top End is
being tight lipped about it. I'll wait a day or so to see if anyone on the
list has already installed one before giving it a try.

Brad
