Windshield/Wing window fit

I am having difficulty making a good fit between the windshield and wing
window on the door. I have read the recent threads and have shimmed the
windshield but in doing so, it creates a large gap between the frame and
the body of the car. Too large a gap to be covered by the seal.

Any ideas.
