I've been reading the mail on this list for about a year now. I've been
dragging my
MK-V around for 20 years. I am now ready to start!

I would like to try and start the engine, but am not sure of what precautions
I should take before doing so. Is there any recommended "check list" or
whatever, that I can use as a reference?

Also, what is the "SAL" number?

Any help appreciated!
