My SV full synchro OD transmission is a bit notchy as well. Mine was also
just rebuilt before I installed it. The transmission I took out - a SV
full synchro - was smooth as silk. Other than that, I have no answer for
you.

By the way, I am running 20-50 as suggested to me by John Roseby, the guy
who rebuilt the transmission - and does so for a hobby/income in England
(of Alpine transmissions only).
