The Halda was an early mechanical computer used in rallying.  It combined a 
clock and the speedometer cable to calculate true time deviation for 
time-speed-distance (TSD) rallies.  It was nearly as accurate as the ability 
of a navigator to change the inputs at the proper instant while on the fly.
