My Series II has a manual windscreen washer pump as in Britain all cars
must be retro fitted with windscreen washers even if they weren't
originally fitted, to pass the MOT fitness for purpose test. However other
safety items such as seat belts do not have to be retro fitted even though
the wearing of them is compulsory in Britain.
