trying to kill him by driving under the hoist. Their car, which changed
model and year just prior to going over the cliff, crashed and burned. He
then got to her house, but parked long before he got to her driveway. He
walked up to her door and told her he took a cab. The "sunbeam" had failed
to start at the hotel. That is why she said "That explains it!" Then of
course, he abused her, and turned her in for conspiracy to commit murder. In
the BOOK, it was an early Alpine, and he loaned it to two tourists to drive
around while he slipped out in another car. The tourists were blown to bits.
