Ian,
On my car, there is no "black vynil 'cradle'". This is a series I and not the
original top. Good top but no way to stow. I did remove it so I can put the
hardtop on. I plan on only driving on great sunny days so I probably won't
really use the soft. But after I get it repaired, I will try it again.
