Okay, I just got off the phone with Scott Christie. Scott sent me pictures
from a junkyard in Columbia, South Carolina that's packed with early
Alpines. Anyhow, in this junkyard is Series I #53 and it has a silver dash.
Scott says that it was the factory dash and didn't look as if it had ever
been tampered with. This evidance leads me to believe that the correct
finish for all Series I and Series II Alpines up to '63 should be
silver-grey. - Ian
