Generator ID for Series 3 ()

Hi all,

I have been given a rebuilt Lucas generator which looks very like the
one on my Series 3 Alpine. Can someone tell me if the rebuilt unit is
suitable for my car?

The markings are:
LUCAS
22704A 8 65
C40 LO 12V

2060
7677
6 2 72

I have read the benefits of fitting an alternator, but (in a hushed
voice) my generator is working at present, and if the rebuilt one fits
it will be a zero $ spare. So an alternator conversion is some way off
for me at the moment.
