I have heard of some Tiger owners extreme interest in authentic VIN
plate rivets and the long debates that have occurred about this
insignificant (to me!) topic.
Well, currently (and for the next 5 + days), there is an auction of a
pair of supposedly authentic NOS pop rivets and the bid is now at
$66.00! ( While some may have misread the description, and thought that
they were getting a package of 24, apparently a bid of over $30.00 each
on what looks like an ordinary pop rivet is not unusual!)
Almost makes a person contemplate getting into the pop rivet
counterfeiting business just to complicate the issue.... : )
