I always assume that any one who is going to use a puller is going to replace bearings. I think
Lawrence Mayfield is quite correct in saying that a bearing subjected to puller forces will be
damaged in undetectable ways, and will be likely to fail later. I think it is false economy to
try to reuse bearings as any puller may disturb bearing surfaces, race alignment, etc. unless
the piece comes out really easily. Hope that reassembly with NEW bearings goes well!
