There have been a couple of questions about distributors.
First, as to the mechanical advance distributor for the 1725 engine, the
only one I know of is the one from the H120. I tried to find one before,
even tried Holden in the UK, but could not find one. I ended up detaching
the vacuum part (but leave the empty cannister attached for any smog exam
issues) and then had someone put in different springs and weights for full
mechanical operation. If you really want the H120 distributor number, let
me know, and give me some time to dig it up.
Someone also asked about the distributor number so they could get a
Pertronix. Sunbeam Specialties also sells those. I believe the price is
very competitive. And, you don't even need to know the distributor number!
I'm running the Lumenition (which I now realize I was mistakenly calling
"Lumenation") and am very happy with it. But, those Pertronix units sure
look nice and SIMPLE = less to break.
