Andrew,
I don't think swapping rods is good for the engine, because it's going
to unbalance the crankshaft. If you have to swap the rods or buy new
ones, you will need to have the engine rebalanced. If you still have
the original rods, you might be able to match the new rods by grinding
material from the new rods to match the old rods weight. The small and
large ends and overall weight needs to be matched, however.
