Thanks so much for all the mail with offers to help me out. I made two
mistakes in my post that I will now own up to. First of all, I incorrectly
called the part I needed a "theromstat housing." What I meant was the part
that goes over the thermostat that the radiator hose hooks to. Secondly, I
did not consult the Sunbeam catalogs of the various suppliers and had no
idea that I could purchase a new one. I will do that rather than get a
used piece since they are not too expensive. Thanks again and I'm sure
you'll all hear from me again on my next crisis, AFTER I look at the
catalogs!
