There are three different tail shaft housings for Alpine transmissions.
Standard , early all synchro (used on late series 4's) and late all synchro
(used on series 5's). There is a lot of confusion when trying to get the
correct parts, for the early all synchro transmissions. Question does the
early all synchro trans, use the same input and output oil seals, as the
standard non synchro trans ? Does it use the same output bushings ? . The
early all synchro tail shaft housing is 1/2" longer than the standard non
synchro tail shaft housing. Question, can a non all synchro housing be
used on the early all synchro trans??
