I tried a Honda Civic heater valve on my Alpine a couple of years ago, which I
think is the one in question, and it is a close fit. The problem with it is it
has a "bypass" that in effect lets hot water through the valve all the time,
even when it's "closed", which means heat when you don't want it. I found a
good used original valve that works fine and is a much better solution. Try
Curt at Classic Sunbeam as I think I've seen him advertise new valves in the
past.
