RE: 3.89 and OD

    I've driven my car both ways, and for US highways, VASTLY prefer the
3.89. The 4.22 gave slightly better acceleration, and slightly better top
end, but not a big difference on either. The 3.89 gives you all top end
improvement, which is exactly where you need it in an Alpine.

    I can attest to the highway behavior thanks to SUNI in 1989, when I
drove my 66 Series V from NJ to CO and back, including a straight-through
return trip of 28 hours. Couldn't have run better!
