Seems to me that most of the time and money spent will be on the body work. Shooting the paint is just the icing on the cake, so to speak. I'd have it all done at one shop.

Believe me, I have learned the hard way. When it comes to paint and body work, there is no prize for second place. It only pays to have the job done right from start to finish.

I know a lot of guys don't want to invest their hard earned money in Alpines because the return on investment isn't there. I look at it like this. First, owning an Alpine is a labor of love. I own them because I love the car and enjoy the people involved with the marquee. Second, I feel that if more people would take the time to restore their Alpines properly, they would in turn demand a higher resale value and gain the respect they deserve. Face it, Alpines will never demand the kind of money that Tigers do, but if the Alpines value goes up, then the Tigers will too!

My second 2 cents worth. - ian

Thanks to everyone on the great opinions. I forgot to mention a couple
things. I happen to know both shop owners. They would both do a good job-The
$3000.00 shop person being the most conscientious. There are no emblems or
lights or windshield. Also, I thought it better to paint the WHOLE car before
installing interior. The $3000.00 shop owner does GREAT bodywork, but this
car needs little.

Maybe I will take it to the $3000.00 shop just for the bodywork and then to
MAACO for the paint?
