I looked at my Series V this morning. I don't have a brown wire in that
area so I don't know about that. There is a white wire with connector
coming out of the harness just inside the engine compartment on the passenger
(right) side. It connects to one of the three yellow wires coming up from
the overdrive solenoid. The other two yellow wires go to the relay that is
mounted on the firewall and then three other yellow wires attach to the relay
and go though the firewall to the column switch.
