Yes. The mounts on the block for the stock bracket are raised, away
from the block. You will need to position the GM mount on the barstock
so that the rearmost mounting hole lays between the raised mountpoints
on the engine block. This will give you the proper alignment with the
pulleys. Make sure you have your measurement right, 'cuz you will have
to drill the holes in your barstock and GM mount first. After you've
done that, mount the GM bracket to the barstock. You cannot mount the
barstock first and then the GM bracket. I used a 2" stainless steel
barstock about 8" long. I drilled the engine block mounting points on
the lower portion (lengthwise) of the bar and the GM bracket mount
points on the upper portion. This way the mountpoints did not
interfere with one another. I hope I'm remembering this right. When
you have your barstock and GM bracket in hand to trial fit, it will all
make sense. It's really simpler than I make it sound. Does this make
sense?
