Tim, I assume when you say steering column you are referring to the
steel column in the engine bay. I found an old email that recommends
Satin black for many of the engine components plus the steering box. If
the box is Satin I should think the column would be also. I was
surprised to read that the water pump should be black . I just polished
mine and there wasn't the least sign of black paint on it .
